Xylitol – is a sugar alcohol, it is a product of the transformation of glucose in the human body. In the free state occurs in several species of plants (including birch). It has been used for a long time as a sweetener in toothpastes, because it also affects the remineralization of teeth. Used in skincare preparations, it moisturises and at the same time strengthens the skin’s protective functions. It inhibits the growth of harmful microorganisms without harming the existing native bacterial flora.
