Phytic acid – inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6), obtained from plants, e.g. cereals. At physiological pH, these phosphates are partially ionized, thanks to which they have a preservative role – in natural cosmetics they replace a synthetic ingredient called EDTA. It is also a brightening ingredient and a powerful antioxidant. In addition, it has a vasoconstrictive and slightly exfoliating effect.
