Lanolin (Cera Lana) – is a wax secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. It is a mixture of fatty acid esters with sterol alcohols and free sterol alcohols. It resembles the secretion of the sebaceous glands of human skin. Lanolin has a high penetration ability, penetrating deeply into the epidermis – it facilitates the penetration of other active substances, it softens and smoothes the skin, prevents water loss, reduces skin roughness and flaking, soothes cracks and wounds, moisturizes and makes it more elastic.
